Twin cities unicyclists jump at
chance to break world record.

Press Release

On Saturday, February 23, 2002 at 3 pm at Concordia University, six unicyclists from the Twin Cities Unicycle Club will attempt to break the world record in jump roping on a unicycle for one minute. The current record is currently tied for both men and women at 169 jumps per minute, currently held by both Constance Cotter from Columbia Heights and Peter Rosendahl from Las Vegas. Almost all of the unicyclists going for the world record have been averaging above 180 jumps per minute, that is more than three per second. This means that the riders can guarantee that the record for men and women will be broken. The age ranges of the riders is from 11 to 33, and have been preparing for months working to break the record. Experts in the unicycling organizations as well as the jump roping association will be on hand to certify this record-breaking attempt.
